RED FLAG. WARNING. EMOTIONAL DAMAGE. I REPEAT EMOTIONAL DAMAGE. I cannot divulge too might without giving it away entirely, but, QUINN… *insert numerous expelatives here* Brother’s Keeper is a beautiful look into the Nash & Fitch relationship, and the role Nash plays in holding our basket case together. Seeing Fitch navigate what Nash means to him, protecting Donnie, while continuing to play his part at the capitol is beautiful and heart breaking at the same time.
Blurb/Synopsis
The rules of the game never change. It’s kill or be killed.
Fitch Farrow was ready to turn his back on the criminal gang of witches that raised him until the safe haven he thought he could run to proves to be anything but.
Left without options, Fitch helps the leader of the gang rise to power in the Capitol, merging both sides of his double life. Deception abounds as Fitch is tasked with keeping investigator Holland Lyle busy with a missing persons case about which Fitch knows more than he’s willing to let on.
The future of the Capitol hangs in the balance while Fitch fights to protect his family and safeguard his secrets. To do that, he must navigate dark and deadly waters where survival means mastering the art of manipulation and discovering where his loyalties truly lie.
What I Enjoyed
NASHIE BOY & FITCH: The deeper dive into all things Nash and Fitch warmed the living daylights out of my heart. Fitch is truly trying to work with what he knows while also attempting to figure out what he wants and needs in his life. And seeing him unravel with Nash, and seeing Nash just… catch our boy in all his good and bad. I swear, Nash is an angel on earth (or their earth, really).
Maggie: Maggie plays a supporting role in this book, and you see the relationship between Donnie and Fitch come to light through their interactions with Maggie. Also, how they take her in when Ripley goes MIA for a little. Our little Zombie in a round about interesting way kind of felt like a safety net for our farrow boys.
Fitch + The Detectives and Their Growing Relationship: I loved seeing the *friendship* between Fitch and Holland’s Detectives grow. Quinn never comes out and says it, but I do believe they all end up respecting Fitch in their own ways, even caring for him – I think.
Cameron’s Writing Style: Let’s never forget that Cameron has a wonderful writing style that keeps you engaged and immersed in the story. It isn’t overly complicated, the references are 90’s drawn, and the characters are so relatable. Even though they may be *magically inclined*. Cameron’s books are always a delight to read- quick and yummy. A guilty pleasure.
What I Didn’t Like
Donovan: Not specifically Donovan himself, because I FREAKIN’ LOVE Donnie. More so… *the plot* surrounding Donnie. EMOTIONAL DAMAGE, and I am STILL NOT OK. You hear that, Quinn? NOT. O. K.
The Complete and Utter Destruction of Fitch Farrow: *le sigh*… now… we wait for chaos to ensue.
Notable Quotes
“If she would take that negative energy to the bedroom we could really have something. I hardly minded her disdain even in this setting, but if she planted one of those stiletto heels on my chest and told me what a piece of shit I was, I would be done for.”
“Fighting dirty and fighting to win often looked the same.”
“Why treat your body like a temple when you could ride it like a rollercoaster?”
“For someone who drew so much power from his brain, my heart ruled me more often than not.”
“Nash’s name on Grimm’s Lips was like a nail in a coffin. ‘If you so much as look at him sideways, you’re done.’ I hissed. ‘You’ve taken enough away from me. I get to have this.’”
“I’m toxic. I ruin everything I touch. I’ll ruin you, too.”

Over All Thoughts
I absolutely LOVED seeing another side to Nash + Fitch. It was interesting to see how Fitch managed to keep the detectives from figuring out *he* is really the one they’re all looking for– while maintaining a sort of loyalty to Grimm. However, I cannot FLIPPIN’ BELIEVE Quinn would destroy Fitch the way she did. But now, I cannot wait for Fitch to rain some hell onto Grimm. Home boy deserves the LIVING CHAOS that is Fitch Farrow heading his way. I am gripping my seat in anticipation for Looking Grimm.
